Where the cards come from
Every card is built from public data. Nothing is invented, and no card is written by hand except the game moments. The companies come from two places: the Y Combinator directory, and the well-known tech companies listed on Wikipedia, such as its list of unicorn startups and its categories of technology companies by year founded. Everything the world has documented about them, from the year they were founded to the country they are based in, comes from Wikidata.
How rarity is decided
A card sits in one of seven tiers, and it keeps that tier for everyone. Each tier was set once for the whole catalog, and it is fixed before any pack is opened: opening a pack reveals a card, it never decides its rarity.

Rarity measures what a company means to the global startup and technology ecosystem: its traction, its influence on its category and its place in tech history. A card labelled Legend is one of the icons of that story. Tiers are proposed with the help of an AI model from public information, and the highest ones are reviewed by hand.
Images and trademarks
Logos come from Wikimedia Commons or, for Y Combinator companies, from their Y Combinator profile. Most of them are registered trademarks of their owners. They are shown here to identify the company a card refers to, and for no other purpose: their presence does not imply any endorsement, affiliation or partnership.
When no logo can be found, the card shows the company's initials.
Removing a card
If a card refers to you, to your company, or carries an image you own, write to hello@dogfooded.com and it will be taken out of the catalog. Removing a card stops it from appearing anywhere and from being pulled again. Tell us which card, and that is enough.
Free, and staying free
Packs cost nothing and never will. There is nothing to buy here, no paid pack and no paid shortcut.
